Adventure

I keep having this recurring thought that I've got to share. Especially as we approach our church launch. In my experience most people that try to move forward in their life, in regards to faith and risk, are immediately met with resistance. Sometimes people that are closest to you will question the very thing you sense God asking you to venture into. This is par for the course, check every biblical hero. When one steps out in faith, it is a journey of misunderstanding to many. It has to be okay that just a few people really understand and get behind you.

And that gets us so discouraged. Here is what the enemy wants you to believe: you will fail. It's a lie. I think we let small failures turn into big failures because we get so discouraged. What we need to do is a little damage control via hearing God's voice. Those of us that want maximum impact in from our lives will from time to time not look so good. Frodo had to leave the shire, and when he did, he was filled with crazy thoughts, but as time went on he became enthralled with the vision laid before him. It is uncomfortable to leave the shire. People we are closest with are in the shire and want us to stay there. For many of us, the shire is not where we are supposed to stay. Don't buy into the enemy's lie! Don't throw in the towel.
