I, probably like many of you, have been involved with conversations about Joel Osteen, pastor of America's largest church, Lakewood, in Houston. Unfortunately many of the conversations have been unfairly critical. I have heard people say "he doesn't preach the
real Gospel," "he is too much into prosperity," "he is too young..." I assume that I don't agree with everything Mr. Osteen believes, but then again there have been some stupid things come out of my mouth of what I thought was true. Maybe my greatest reason for liking him is that he seems like the kind of guy you would want to have lunch with. I have met alot of preachers, and conversing over lunch is not something I would aspire to do with many of them. Maybe that should be a new qualification for preachers: NICE.
