For all of you responsible for overseeing other people, reviews/evaluations are key to the growth of teamwork. We are having our first one at Westside Faith Community. Here is a general outline of how we will frame our conversation.
Staff Reviews:
Here are the questions that we will use to guide our conversation. My desire is to be more relational and less formal in the way we approach things as WSF.
Please respond in at least a couple of sentences to the following descriptors: initiative, team player, organization, follow-through, communication, integrity, productivity, and attitude. This is a simple self evaluation on 8 key ingredients for working together.
Please respond in at least a couple of sentences to the following descriptors: initiative, team player, organization, follow-through, communication, integrity, productivity, and attitude. This is a simple self evaluation on 8 key ingredients for working together.
Here are the seven questions to guide the review.
1) What do you enjoy most and least about you’re time so far serving with the WSF team?
2) What do you feel are your greatest strengths and weakness exhibited in the last 6 months?
3) Are there any issues you'd like to discuss?
4) Do you need clarification on any part of your responsibilities/job description?
5) Any part of your responsibilites/job description you want to add, subtract, or delegate?
6) What are your top priorities/goals for next year?
7) How can Erica & I help you reach those goals?
My goal as an overseer is to make sure we have room to grow. And that means we might not do what we do forever. In fact, I really feel like we need to shuffle the deck periodically to give people new challenges. I genuinely want people to enjoy working at WSF!
That is the bottom line for me.
