Jesus? Church?

In the first few months of church start mode I have, several times, lost sight of the bridegroom. In my fascination with the bride I forget the bridegroom. I pray to the bridegroom for the bride and I think strategically about how the bridegroom wants His bride to look here in Los Angeles, but the main point is Him. All this talk-talk-talk of church: organic church, postmodern church, house church, cell church, simple church, mega-church, traditional church, purpose driven church... No wonder the world is confused about our message! Aren't we simply a signpost of the present/future reality of the Kingdom of God.

How much of starting a church is our job rather than just simply loving Jesus?

Cleanse my heart, wash my hands!

The challenge to the relevance of the church we are dealing with is generally not our theology, history, or even Biblical understanding of Jesus as much as it is our cultural and personal way of relating to Him. How do we bring others into a dynamic relationship with Him?
